การให้บริการโปรแกรม Turnitin ของสำนักวิทยบริการ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น
บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้เป็นบทความที่เป็นผลสรุปจากการวิเคราะห์งานในการให้บริการ Turnitin ของสำนักวิทยบริการ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ซึ่งเป็นเครื่องมือที่ช่วยตรวจสอบการคัดลอกผลงาน (Plagiarism Detection) ในระยะแรกพบว่ามีผู้ใช้จำนวนน้อย จึงได้ทำการวิเคราะห์ พบว่า ปัญหาเกิดจากสาเหตุ 5 ประการ คือ 1) โปรแกรมยังไม่เป็นที่รู้จักแพร่หลาย 2) บรรณารักษ์ยังไม่มีความชำนาญที่จะสอนการใช้โปรแกรม จึงยังไม่มีหลักสูตรการสอน การใช้ Turnitin 3) การบริหารจัดการจำนวนผู้ใช้ในฐานข้อมูลยังไม่เหมาะสม 4) การกำหนดขั้นตอนและวิธีการผู้ให้บริการยังไม่เหมาะสม และ 5) ยังไม่มีการทำงานร่วมกับคณะ หน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง ซึ่งประเด็นดังกล่าวเกี่ยวข้องกับบรรณารักษ์ ระบบการให้บริการ และนโยบายการบริหารโปรแกรม ผู้รับผิดชอบจึงได้กำหนดขั้นตอนการให้บริการที่ชัดเจน เน้นการประชาสัมพันธ์ผ่านช่องทางทุกช่องทาง พัฒนาบรรณารักษ์ให้มีความรู้ในการสอนและแนะนำการใช้โปรแกรมแก่ผู้ให้บริการห้องสมุดโดยการอบรม และการจัดการความรู้ ปรับปรุงการกำหนดสิทธิของสมาชิกและระบบสัดส่วนของผู้เป็นสมาชิกประเภทต่างๆ และวางแผนการดำเนินงานเพื่อส่งเสริมการใช้โปรแกรม Turnitin ร่วมกับหน่วยงานต่างๆ
Abstract
Analysis of the adoption of Turnitin a software tool that detects plagiarism at the Academic Resources Center Khon Kean University is presented. During the initial period of evaluation the tool was under utilized. Analysis found that under-utilization was caused by five factors : 1) availability of the program was not well-advertised 2) librarians did not have the expertise to teach use of the software 3) statistics for tracking utilization were inadequate 4) procedures for granting access and user-permissions were inadequate and 5) interaction with the faculty and university agencies was lacking. The Turnitin utilization rate will improve if deficiencies in these five factors are addressed. Improvement in Service System Policy and Program Administration are needed to set up access to the service, including establishment of user-groups and levels of access permission. A clear focus on publicity through all channels is critical. Librarians must be provided training so they have the knowledge to teach and guide software use. Finally, action plans are needed to promote the use of Turnitin with faculty and university agencies.
